Poem (Who let this through?) © 1995

I once met a man who programmed in C,
Shouting and singing as loud as can be.
He believed its powers were so great,
That he worshipped C’s might in an ecstatic state.

He claimed C was the dawn of a new realisation,
Which would sweep away existing civilisation.
So he began to build a shack in the flower border
Where he would await the dawn of the new order.

One day, one glorious day,
C would rise up and sweep HyperCard away.
Subjecting its users to fear and segregation,
And force them to undergo re-education.
